The goal of the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office Victims Assistance program is to assist victims and their loved ones following a violent crime. Our Victims Liaisons provide direct assistance through advocacy, support, education, and outreach.
Supporting Victims and Their Loved Ones
Victims Assistance works to mitigate the effects of a traumatic incident, decrease secondary victimization, and increase the involvement and cooperation of victims and witnesses throughout the criminal justice process.
Many victims wonder what comes next after a crime. Our Victims Liaisons are here to provide information, guidance, advocacy, and support while helping individuals move from being a victim toward becoming a survivor.

Assistance with information and resources related to Crime Victims Compensation.

Information and referrals to assigned investigators and updates regarding the status of a case.
Law Enforcement Advocacy
Information and advocacy with the appropriate jurisdictional law enforcement agency.
District Attorney's Office
Information and advocacy with the District Attorney's Office.
Attorney General's Office
Information and advocacy with the Attorney General's Office.
Social Services
Information and advocacy with social service agencies that support victims.
Accompaniment
Accompaniment to court and medical facilities as requested by law enforcement or victims.
Community Outreach
Community education and outreach regarding victim services and available resources.
Law Enforcement Support
Advocacy, information, and support for law enforcement personnel.
